You Can Start Over

Many people think becoming a Christian means cleaning up your life and trying to be a better person. The Bible describes something far bigger.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new" (Second Corinthians 5:17).

Read the words carefully. It does not say a better version of the old you. It says a new creation. When you give your life to Jesus, God does not patch up what was broken. He makes you new on the inside. His own life comes into your spirit, and you become part of His family.

This is what Jesus called being born again. You cannot earn it by good behavior, and you cannot fix yourself into it. It is a gift, and you receive it by saying yes to Him, and allowing Him to be at the steering wheel of your life.

Why does this matter? Because many believers still carry their old label. They think of themselves by their worst mistake, their past, or the things people once said about them. But "old things have passed away" means that story no longer defines you. God has written a new one.

That does not mean everything feels different overnight. Your thoughts and habits will change as you learn what God says about you. But the new life is already there, and you grow into it day by day.

Here is one thing to do today. Take a piece of paper and write down one old label you have been carrying. Then write Second Corinthians 5:17 beside it. Say the verse out loud, and thank God that in Christ you are brand new.

You do not have to be perfect to begin. You only have to begin. This is where the very first class of Jesus Boot Camp starts. Start free at jesusbootcamp.org/join.
