You Are Complete in Him

Ask a hundred people who they are, and most will tell you what they do. A job, a place in the family, a mistake from the past. But God has a different answer about every person who belongs to Jesus.

"And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power" (Colossians 2:10).

Complete means nothing is missing. Not "getting there someday," but complete now, in Christ. When you gave your life to Jesus, you were joined to Him. You share His standing before the Father, and you are not left to work life out on your own strength.

Many new believers feel they must work hard to become somebody in God's eyes. But the Bible says you already are somebody, because of who Jesus is and what He did for you. Your part is to believe it and live from it, not to earn it.

Think of a man who inherits a house but never walks inside. The house is his by law, yet he sleeps outside in the cold. Many believers live like that. Everything is theirs in Christ, but they have never stepped in and claimed it by faith.

This will not change in a day. Your feelings may argue with it. That is why you keep feeding on God's Word, until what is true about you in Christ becomes what you believe about yourself.

Here is one thing to do today. Write "Colossians 2:10" on a card and put it where you will see it often. Each time you see it, say out loud, "I am complete in Christ." Do this all day, even when you do not feel it.

You were not made to live a divided person. --the one half of who you were , and the other half of who you are now in Christ. You are whole now. This is the heart of Class 2 in Jesus Boot Camp. Start free at jesusbootcamp.org/join.
